Senior Process Engineer
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing technical support, supervising maintenance activities, maintaining environmental compliance, and monitoring related process equipment within the Covington Operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provide technical assistance and work as a project engineer on tasks assigned by the Manager.
2. Plan, organize, implement and control the sterilization facility electrical and mechanical needs, as required.
3. Submit and justify capital expenditures for new sterilization equipment and other facility modifications, as required.
4. Supervise the maintenance work force.
5. Insure that existing Maintenance Work Orders are completed in a timely manner.
6. Direct preventive maintenance program including development of procedures, as required.
7. Support calibration activities and documentation of process equipment and measuring devices.
8. Plan and organize the requisition of spare parts for sterilization and support equipment.
9. Maintain and document equipment and facility procedures in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
10. Direct outside contractor’ activities, as required.
11. Responsible for maintaining facility compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations.
12. Assist Manager in developing and administering departmental budget for maintenance, calibration and environmental activities.
13. Assist Q.A. in disposition of equipment/process non-conformances, including documentation of corrective actions and/or acceptance rationale.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed herein are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering
- Five years experience in facility operation and maintenance
- Five years experience in hazardous chemical processes including safety requirements
*Must have strong industrial electrical background.
