Histology Lab Supervisor / Manager
Our client, a well-known CLIA-certified cytology, histology and molecular pathology laboratory, is actively seeking a Histology Lab Supervisor. Our client is aggressively hiring and is seeking top talent in the industry. They have already increased headcount by 30-40% in 2009 and project similar growth into 2010 due to new diagnostic lines. We have successfully placed several candidates with this laboratory in the last six months.
The group is looking for a Histology Lab Supervisor who have industry experience and eligible to apply for a NY State License.
Job Description:
- Performs all duties related to the preparation of surgical specimens to be examined by a pathologist.
- Supervises, coordinates and evaluates the system and personnel responsible for the performance of all routine and special procedures performed on surgical specimens.
- Consults with the Histology Manager regarding compliance with regulatory standards and changes in procedures and policies.
- Participates in the administrative and technical activities to ensure the efficient operation of the section.
Job Qualifications:
Education/Training/Certification/Licensure:
Eligibility for NYS Clinical Lab Technologist's license required. Has education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by( HCFA) in the Clinical Lab Improvement Act (CLIA) of 1988 and with the (NJSDH) requirements for General Supervisor .Certified by a Category I Agency (ASCP,NCA,AMT,HHS/HEW)(or Certification eligible).
Successful completion of all orientation.
Work Contact Group:
Pathologists, all patient related contacts including physician, physician office staff, LPA associates, reference laboratory representatives, vendors and courier services.
This post ion reports to the Histology Manager and Exec VP Operations.
Supervises:
Histotechnicians, Laboratory Assistants, Clerks, Pathologist Assistants and other Laboratory Staff as required.
